TONE 21 is athletic, inclusive and oh so fun!
In this release, we explore the extension of our
TONE Posture – the TONE Core Brace.
We know TONE Posture is about activating all
the muscles that run through the back of the
body that hold us upright. We also know that
being aware of these muscles and activating them
can help us get more out of our movement (this
includes a big squeeze of the glutes, bracing the
core and squeezing through the upper body to lift
the chest.)
TONE Core Brace is about finding tension
through the abdominals to feel supported and
stable while still being able to move. Listen to
how the team coaches this focus throughout the
release.
Every TONE class is designed to help our
participants work efficiently and improve the
quality of movement, supporting everyday
movement in our lives. And we do this in a fun
and inclusive way!
In this release, you’ll notice that we have “one
less track” (No Dynamic Cardio Core). We’ve had
feedback that you’d like longer Resisted Cardio
and Resisted Balance tracks, and we’ve listened!
Don’t worry, our participants are not missing
out on Dynamic Cardio Core work because we
actually train our core dynamically throughout the
entire class! Now we get longer Resisted Cardio
and (in this particular release) longer Resisted
Balance tracks and the holistic training benefits of
a TONE Class – win win!
The musically journey of this release does not
disappoint (we’re building a reputation in TONE
for trend setting music!). In Track 5, watch out
for the new move – Split Scissors. The combo is
guaranteed to get our participants heart rates up
whether they use a plate or not!

TONE 20 is all about innovation.
This release introduces innovative movement
patterns and exercise combinations to accelerate
your classes fitness and promote longevity.
TONE 20 is the perfect release to take your
participants to new fitness levels whilst remaining
inclusive and assessable to everyone in class.
The Steady State track gets the heart rate up
quickly and we love how the exercises allow your
class to get in the workout zone faster.
The last few releases have really highlighted the
focus on our stabilizers, local and smaller muscles
but in TONE 20 we’ve really complimented this
by working our big muscles and global movement
patterns. Track 3 is the real stand out here!
We recommend you to physically go through
the workout a few times before teaching to your
class to really bring out your best coaching and
authentic self when teaching this release.

Class to be taught in prescribed order as shown in

No more Standing Burpees. The alternative for a
Burpee is to provide the option for your class to
slow the exercise down and move at their own
time.

LES MILLS TONE 19
The Music! The Moves! The Team! We have
certainly delivered in TONE 19. We have all your
favorite presenters reunited for one energetic
release filled with coaching nuggets.
The team combines stability and multi-directional
movements throughout the release and you’ll
experience this right from track 1.
The first 3 tracks highlight athleticism using
simple exercise combinations that you can dial
up or down in intensity giving your class a great
workout feel.
Our Peak 2 Cardio track features speed as a
focus, so provide your class with all the options to
make them feel successful.
The Peak 3 Cardio track pays tribute to what
athleticism is in TONE. We contrast posterior
chain focused movement patterns with high
energy Burpees that have 3 levels to build up
to. As showcased in TONE 17, we have slowed
down the Burpee. Providing an alternative
standing track is one of the key outcomes in all
our TONE classes along with athleticism and
longevity. The ability to get on and off the floor
confidently, especially as we age, holds high value
in our fitness economy and we’ve made sure our
exercises strengthen and focus all the muscles
that help us achieve this!
The fun and playful vibes continue in tracks 6, 7
and 8 – your class will love these simple rhythmic
exercise patterns. The Resisted Cardio, Core and
Balance tracks do not disappoint.
Then the band returns in the Lower Body Strength
track! Progressive and single sided movements
to create a powerhouse of strength through the
lower body is the name of the game here! (Yes,
we doubled the entire song, it’s like a tradition for
TONE lower body tracks, right?!)
We brought back the Front Raise Pushup combo
in our Upper Body Strength track, a cool sound
with integrated upper body training makes this
track absolute fire!
One of our favorite Functional Core tracks to date
– it’s integrated, functional and oh so cool, you’ll
have fun teaching this one.
We finish off this release with everyone’s favorite –
clamshells! Yes, we know this exercise is incredible
for strengthening the hips, glutes, and pelvis but
how good is this exercise with a band! It’s like the
cherry on top of our TONE class!

LES MILLS TONE 18
TONE 18 is all about stability, one of the key
benefits of TONE workouts. You’ll see this focus
thread throughout the release whether we’re
training Cardio, Core or Strength.
The track list for this release is sublime! I think this
needs to be reworded – We start with an uplifting
Warm-up that is pure Gold; watch out for the long
pauses in the Lunges, activating our glutes early
on will help us when we move faster later in the
workout.
In Track 2, we prime our athletic muscles and
stabilizers for multi-directional movement. Track 3
is where we begin to dial up the stability with cardio
work; the beat drop is euphoric, it just makes you
want to move!
Would it be a Feature track in TONE without Palm
Throws? Paired with a fast burner combo for the
lower body, this track will have your class wanting
to “be there” for sure.
There are no burpees in the Peak 3 cardio track!
But before you Squat Jump for joy, know this, we
have a Broad Jump Bear Crawls Combo instead –
an incredible heart rate kicker that your participants
can choose to dial up or down.
This Resisted Cardio track has to be one of the
most fun tracks to date – the key here is to know
the song. It’s rhythmic, it’s athletic, it’s cardio, it’s
stability and there is a level for everyone – a release
highlight for sure.
The Cardio Core track will get your heart rate
jumping and your core fired up with simple moves
we know and love. “It feels like home” doing this
track.

LES MILLS TONE 17
Before we get into talking about this incredible
release, we just want to acknowledge the team.
We’ve been lucky to add some familiar faces to
the TONE family this round.
LES MILLS TONE Release 17 doesn’t disappoint:
we have innovations, we have fantastic music and
we have fun.
Our Warm-up track focuses on functional mobility
to an uplifting song to get our class into the right
zone for the workout ahead.
Track 2 is bringing back the Starburst but with a
twist – we call this jump a Lay-up. It’s challenging
enough to get our heart rates up but not too
challenging that we ‘max out’.
Jump training? Training perimeter? Our Feature
track does not disappoint; we prime the legs
using Lunges and then explode into jump training
all 4 points of our training square. This track is
high cardio but also very playful – have fun with
your class here.
The energy of Track 4 is really something – allow
your class to explore the levels in their kicks. Low
or high, they both feel invigorating.
Keep reminding yourself that in Track 5 there
are only two rounds of work! We like to think we
are leading the way in TONE when it comes to
Burpees – this round does not disappoint!
Some signature TONE moves in Track 6 have us
feeling nostalgic! You love these moves and so do
we.
Oh my, my, my! Track 7 is just full of fun and
oblique goodness! Good luck with not getting the
lyrics stuck in your head.
We love a good Balance challenge – single
side loading for the win in Track 8. And then we
see this challenge amplified in our Lower Body
Strength track.
The Upper Body Strength track introduces
our standout training combo – this is where
athleticism and longevity meet and it’s so good
for your class.
Not 10s, not 50s – We have 100s! Yes, 100s is
our Functional Core Strength track. You’ll notice
a Pilates-inspired style of training that will make
your participants stronger.
And finally – the Glutes track! We really do save
the best for last!

What a workout we have created for you this round!
LES MILLS TONE Release 16 has an overall focus
on multi-directional training, and you’ll experience
movement in all directions throughout the release.
We warm up to a very cool uplifting beat and the
Forward Fold sequence at the start of the track
feels so good.
Track 2 is where we introduce and set the tone for
multi-directional training. We move to an incredibly
energizing beat – starting our speed work on the
spot and then moving forward, back and side to
side.
Track 3, Peak 1, has us exploring our vertical
power via everyone’s favorite Jump/Lunge combo
– you KNEW we had to bring it back! We’ve also
brought back and upgraded the Squat/Knee from
TONE 14; say hello to the Squat/Knee Snap.
Our feature track does not disappoint – Peak 2
features a spicy new move to TONE, “The Thruster
Burpee”. Don’t worry, if Floor Burpees aren’t for
your members, the-like-for-like standing track is
just as spicy with the inclusion of the Broad Jump
Hammer Throw– no matter what you choose, your
participants will get their heart rate racing!
Peak 3 is where we pull all the ranges of motion
together in one epic heart rate kicker! The working
set is dynamic, resisted and explosive, guaranteed
to boost your cardio fitness.
Our Resisted Cardio track is something completely
new. Take your time to learn the Kick Combo
because it’s a goodie.
In Dynamic Core Cardio, we have brought you a
new-school sound to a classic anthem – oh when
you hear it, you’ll know

Resisted Balance turns up the heat in your
stabilizers. Yes, we have fun and the powerful
arm-lines in this track will keep you and your
members on their toes. Good luck with not
getting the catchy lyrics and beat stuck in your
head!
We welcome back our Offset Squat in track 9…Yes,
we did dedicate the entire song twice to Lower
Body Strength again – you’re welcome!
For the first time, we introduce Offset Training
to Upper Body Strength this round. It’s such a
powerful training concept to get us stronger
evenly. In Functional Core Strength we have a
powerful Plate Arc and floor work, to a song that
literally never ends – enjoy.
Oh and in the Glutes track includes a band – do we
need to say anymore!

We are so excited about this release! Following
on from LES MILLS TONE Release 14, is
the introduction of an improved format that
encompasses what TONE is – a class where our
participants can build from being brand-new
to exercise all the way through to their version
of the ultimate athlete. A TONE workout is all
about enhancing optimal athletic power using a
combination of Cardio, Strength and Core while
still giving our participants the freedom and choice
to dial up or dial down the intensity.
So what can we expect in TONE 15?
We Warm up to a classic song with a new-school
feel, focusing on mobilization through the posterior
chain. Next we prepare for the work ahead in our
Steady State using lateral movement patterns and
speed footwork to prime the correct muscles and
build the heart rate. Peak 1 Cardio – say hello to
our brand-new move the Typewriter Burpee! Peak
2 Cardio focuses on running movement drills to
improve your run! Peak 3 Cardio gets our heart
rate through the roof via athletic jumps with a
TONE twist. Resisted Cardio keeps the heart rate
high using rotational power and explosive Squat
Jumps. Our Dynamic Cardio Core is so good we
don’t even need plates this round – we continue
to explore rotational power using the tempo to
create the ultimate resistance. Resisted Balance is
smooth and the ultimate workout for our stabilizers.
Lower Body Strength showcases another
new move to TONE, the Offset Squat. We love
unilateral movements for strength and longevity.
Next up is Upper Body Strength with a circuitstyle feel to maximize our workout. Functional
Core Strength is simple moves to banging beats.
Finally Glutes and there’s nowhere to hide with
everyone’s favorite: Banded Clam Shells. We finish
upbeat with a luscious Stretch

As usual, we have worked the class into what we
believe is well balanced, simple and effective for

Diana Archer Mills (New Zealand) is a
choreographer for LES MILLS TONE, LES MILLS
CORETM and LES MILLS BARRETM, Creative
Director for BODYPUMPTM, BODYJAMTM
and RPMTM and co-Program Director for
BODYBALANCETM/BODYFLOW ®. She is based in
Auckland.
Mark Nu`u-Steele (New Zealand) is an
International Presenter for LES MILLS TONE, a
Creative Director for BODYCOMBATTM, and is the
BODYSTEPTM Program Director. He is a former
international and national aerobics competitor,
based in Auckland.
Bas Hollander (The Netherlands) is a LES
MILLS TONE, LES MILLS SPRINTTM, LES MILLS
GRITTM, LES MILLS THE TRIPTM Trainer/Presenter/
Ambassador and a BORN TO MOVETM Trainer/
Presenter. He is also LMI’s Education Director,
based in Auckland.
Erin Maw (New Zealand) is a LES MILLS TONE,
BODYCOMBAT, BODYJAM, LES MILLS GRIT
and LES MILLS CORE Trainer/Presenter and
the Lead Creative for LES MILLS GRIT. She is a

Hi team!
We have absolutely loved putting this release
together. We have the amazing privilege to be in
New Zealand, so we have been lucky enough to
gather for concept sessions and run-throughs. This
has made for a collaborative feeling in the class
and plenty of ideas coming together to form the
workout.
Focuses this time include a lot of lateral work in the
Cardio block, with some exciting new explosive
moves for you to surprise (and hopefully delight)
your participants with. We have a lot of balance
work in the Strength block, and then a lot of
integrated core throughout.
A new type of track has emerged – Cardio, Strength
& Core in one…give it a try and let us know what
you think!

It’s all about options and choice! You have the
freedom to mix and match tracks to enable you
to create a unique class for your participants.
This allows you to tailor the class to the people in
front of you. This is what LES MILLS TONE is all
about! The only thing we ask is that when mixing
and matching the 45-minute formats, you always
remember to replace like for like. For example,
make sure you replace a Cardio track with another
Cardio track or a Strength track with another

TONE, you have the freedom to choose your
tracks as long as they fit the time. Just make sure
you have a good balance of training and choose
the tracks that best suit your class.

Bas Hollander (The Netherlands) is a LES MILLS
TONE, LES MILLS SPRINT, LES MILLS GRIT, LES
MILLS THE TRIP Trainer/Presenter/Ambassador
and a BORN TO MOVE Trainer/Presenter. He is
also LMI’s Education Director, based in Auckland.
Kaylah-Blayr Fitzsimons-Nu’u (New Zealand) is a
LES MILLS TONE, BORN TO MOVE, BODYSTEP
and a LES MILLS THE TRIP Instructor and a LES
MILLS GRIT Coach. She is based in Auckland.
Khiran Huston (New Zealand) is a LES MILLS
TONE, LES MILLS SPRINT and LES MILLS THE
TRIP Trainer/Presenter, a BODYPUMP Instructor/
Presenter, an RPM Trainer and a LES MILLS GRIT
Coach/Presenter. She is based in Auckland and
has been a Les Mills Instructor for seven years.
Khemani Chatly (New Zealand) is a LES MILLS
TONE Presenter/Instructor and an RPM Instructor.
She is based in Auckland
